WINE FAIR PREVIEW - WINE TASTING MCW - SPECIAL LAMBRUSCO DOP

WINE FAIR PREVIEW - WINE TASTING MCW - SPECIAL LAMBRUSCO DOP

The initiative “Anteprima Fiere Vino - Wine Tasting MCW - Speciale Lambrusco Dop" organised by Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna in collaboration with Gambero Rosso, as part of the European project Mediterranean Cheese and Wines, is about to get underway. From 21 March to 2 April, a series of evenings across the boot will allow operators and enthusiasts to taste Lambrusco in its various interpretations and facets.

Twenty-four wine bars from Trento to Palermo, from Turin to Cagliari, via Milan, Rome, Naples, Bologna, Florence, Brindisi and Lecce, to name but a few. Sixteen different Lambrusco wines will be offered at each event, to which the public will have free access.

Twenty-six wineries associated with the Consorzio Tutela Lambrusco will be involved in this initiative, created with the aim of showing the great versatility of Lambrusco, with the chromatic and taste nuances that characterise it. The tour was created to offer all wine lovers the opportunity to get to know the character of Grasparossa di Castelvetro, the Lambrusco of the Modena hills, explore Lambrusco di Sorbara, which offers wines of great freshness, often also produced using the Metodo Classico method, encounter the balance of Lambrusco Salamino, both that of Santa Croce di Carpi and that of the Reggiano DOC, or discover the special features of the Colli di Scandiano e Canossa denomination, on the hills around Reggio Emilia.

"Our tour will be a widespread event: a way to tell the key characteristics of our Lambrusco DOC wines through tasting. This formula will allow us to reach enthusiasts in different cities, perhaps even those who would find it more difficult to organise an in-depth visit to Emilia," comments Giacomo Savorini, director of the Consortium. As a Consortium, we are working on real consumer education," continues Savorini, "with a route that starts in Italy and will be taken up again on international markets, which involves introducing our 12 different grape varieties, 12 facets of six denominations. We believe that Lambrusco has unique characteristics, because everyone can find their own taste, their own combination, their own occasion for consumption at various times of the day".
